Ok here it is!! I am so excited to be able to finally tell everyone what we’ve been working on in the Memmer house. I am not pregnant (although it does keep you busy), we’re still in Winter Workouts as far as that’s concerned.
Big Red is opening a fitness training facility!!!! He has decided (through a lot of prayer, pacing and pushing from his wife) to open his own business. Intensity Training Systems is coming to the Burleson area starting Monday, January 16th. This is not your typical gym people, you don’t sign up, spend four days on an elliptical watching Nancy Grace and then never come back. NO. This is a fitness training facility and you will have your every move coordinated by Big Red himself, so you know you won’t be wasting a moment of your time (or Nancy’s). It seemed to be such a logic step for him in my eyes; I kept telling him that if he could help me (flighty, addicted to nachos, genetically predisposed to cellulite) to lose 70lbs of baby weight then he could help anyone. Literally, anyone. I am a mule.
He’ll be coaching a Boot Camp (which is really large group training but sounds cooler if you use trendy lingo) which will consist of a 35 minute full body workout. That’s right, 35 minutes people!! How relieved are you that you don’t have to spend an hour at the gym to lose weight and get fit?!? I peed a little when I discovered that, in all honesty (after you have a baby stuff just…happens, sometimes). He will offer small group training as well. Small group training is kind of amazeballs because if you have three (four, five…however many) friends who want to work out as well then the group of you can train with Red separately with workouts designed for your goals and physical condition. It’s way cheaper than personal training cause everyone splits the costs. You can also taunt and make fun of each other during workouts, which is my favorite part. Lastly Red is always open to one-on-one personal training, whatever your goal may be. He has spent many hours training athletes and preparing them for the field (or court or pool…).
In that vein, Red’s totally gifted in specialized athletic training. If you are or know an athlete looking to take it to the next level this would be an amazing opportunity to work with a guy who has trained college athletes and has former trainees in the NBA and NFL. Making plays!!!
Because I am in love with him I’d like to give a tiny shout out to his C.V. Red is a former college athlete, has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Black Hills State University and a Master’s from TCU (that’s where we met, actually). He worked as a strength and conditioning coach at Black Hills State University, Michigan State University, University of Wyoming and most recently at TCU. His certifications include CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist), USAW Sports Performance Coach (United States Weight Lifting Association) and SCCC (strength and conditioning coach certified). By the way, you can’t get any of these certifications over the internet in your boxers. In an unrelated note, he is also certified in First Aid and CPR. Those of you who are allergic to sweat…have no fear.
He has also come up with a nutrition manual which he will give to everyone when they sign up, free of charge. It’s killer dude. It’s what will take your weight loss to the next level and let you walk down the street smiling while everyone calls you a skinny bitch and gossips about how they think you had lipo.
Also, the first two weeks are totally free. You get to try Intensity Training Systems for free before you decided it’s something you want to do. Red’s a confident dude and he (and I) really believe that once you try this new way of working out you’ll love it. I’m totally doing the bootcamp so you also get to hear me cuss at and apologize to my husband, a lot.
If you’re interested message me at TheMemmers facebook page and I’ll get you all the details. We’ve put so much prayer and energy in to this I know it’s going to be an amazing adventure.
